The Tending Sessions
Cultivate your creative practice with support, one season at a time
NOTE: New name, same support (but even better). The Follow-through Sessions have evolved into The Tending Sessions—because creativity isn’t about just getting things done, it’s about tending to what matters.
Held on Zoom
Spring sessions begin on April 7th and end on June 30th
Every second Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a stat) from 6:30pm to 8:30pm PST
$510 CAD
THIS SPRING
A season-long container to nurture your creative practice with personalized guidance, peer connection, and practical tools to help you grow—no hustle, no grind.
WHY I CREATED THIS OFFERING
It takes one to know one…
I’m a writer and artist who knows that keeping a creative practice alive can feel impossible some days. Life is full, energy is unpredictable, and the world doesn’t exactly make it easy to prioritize art. And let’s be honest—we don’t always make it easy on ourselves either. Things like self-doubt, perfectionism, and that little voice saying, ‘you should be further along by now’ can be just as relentless as external pressures. (Spoiler alert: these things aren't even personal problems or failings, they're collective issues that stem from systems of oppression.)
That’s why I created The Tending Sessions—a season-long container where you’ll have support, a flexible structure, and gentle nudges to keep going without falling into the traps of hustle culture. Because you don’t just want to be a doer of tasks—you want to be in a nourishing, compassionate relationship with your creative self and the world around you.
WHO’S IT FOR
The Tending Sessions might be for you if…
-
You're a woman, non-binary, or gender non-conforming creator at any level who wants to build momentum in your practice—without self-sacrificing to the false productivity gods.
-
You want to show up for your creative practice with more consistency and less guilt, grind, or self-recrimination—because beating yourself up hasn’t exactly helped so far.
-
You've tried to build creative habits before—but this time, you want a realistic system that actually meets you where you're at, that wasn't designed by some privileged productivity-guru.
-
You want to prioritize what matters most—whether that's projects, play, or simply making creativity a part of your daily life without turning it into another to-do list.
-
You know you'd benefit from gentle accountability and a flexible structure to help keep you moving forward—at your own pace, not at the speed of capitalism.
-
You value peer support and shared experiences and resources—because individualism is overrated.
-
You're drawn to the idea of working in alignment with the seasons—which allows for growth, rest, and renewal instead of burnout. (A revolutionary concept, right?)
-
You're curious about an anti-oppressive approach to creativity—one that acknowledges how systems of oppression (like capitalism) impact you and your practice, instead of gaslighting you into thinking you just need to “try harder.”
-
You want creativity to be about more than just what you produce—you want a relationship with your work that feels nourishing, expansive, and maybe even (gasp!) joyful.
HOW IT WORKS/WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE
Seven live sessions, a one-on-one session, your own copy of The Seasonal Creator Workook & Planner, weekly check-ins, and office hours
Here’s how The Tending Sessions unfold over the course of a season and what you’ll receive:
STEP 1: APPLY & JOIN
Once you apply and are accepted, you’ll secure your spot and receive an onboarding email that tells you everything you need to know and do before our first session together. I’ll also mail your copy of The Seasonal Creator Workbook & Planner to help you prepare for the season ahead. It’ll guide you through key concepts, walking you through an in-depth seasonal review, and planning process.
STEP 2: ORIENTATION
At the start of the season, we gather on Zoom for an orientation session—no need to dress up, bring perfect plans, or pretend you have it all together. You’ll meet your fellow participants (a small group of up to eight creators) and share insights from your seasonal review and plan. Whether you’re setting clear project goals or just trying to get unstuck, this is where we begin.
STEP 3: GROUP SESSIONS EVERY SECOND MONDAY FROM 6:30-8:30PM PST
Every second Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday), we meet on Zoom. These sessions include the opportunity to:
Report: Share what you’ve been up to in your practice. (Think of this as a low-pressure check-in, not a scary status report.)
Share: Offer insights, liberatory practices, or resources that have been helpful for you.
Ask/Show: Get suggestions/advice or open up a discussion. Maybe you’re wondering how to share your work on Instagram or you need strategies for tackling imposter syndrome. This is a space to ask big and small questions alike. Alternatively, you can show us what you’ve been working on and ask us for feedback.
Your Seasonal Creator Workbook & Planner has handy sheets at the back to help you prepare for each session, making it easier to show up ready to reflect and engage.
STEP 4: SHINE SESSIONS (1:1 CREATIVE ADVISING)
Within ten days of our Orientation Session, you’ll also receive a one-hour, one-on-one Shine Session with me on Zoom. This session will give you individualized guidance and a chance to talk more in-depth about your practice and projects.
STEP 5: KEEP TENDING, AT YOUR OWN PACE
The Three Creative Practice Habits offer a simple, flexible system to help you move forward at your own pace. These habits invite you to:
Connect with your creative self for (at least) 15 minutes a day (most days).
Prioritize three right-sized, intentional weekly tasks or activities.
Review, plan, and reset regularly.
STEP 6: WEEKLY CHECK-INS
Between sessions, you’ll have access to a private Facebook group for facilitated weekly check-ins—an integral part of the program. (Yes, it’s Facebook. No, it’s not ideal, but for now, it’s where we gather. The space is yours to co-create.)
STEP 7: OFFICE HOURS
If you get stuck or stalled or just want extra guidance, you can book a 20-minute Office Hours session with me. This is an extra resource that I encourage everyone to take me up on at least once per season!

To put into your new planner, of course.

INVESTMENT & ACCESSIBILITY
Let’s be in compassionate relationships with our creative practices together.
I want The Tending Sessions to be as financially accessible as possible while also honouring the time, energy, and labour I put into creating and facilitating this offering. Here's how it works:
STANDARD RATE: $510 CAD
This covers the full season of support, including seven, two-hour group sessions; a one-on-one, one-hour Shine Session; The Seasonal Creator Workbook & Planner; facilitated weekly check-ins in our private Facebook group; and office hours, when needed. If you’re financially well-resourced, paying this rate helps me offer financial assistance to those who need it.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Upfront Payment: Pay $510 in full after acceptance.
Installment Plan: Pay a non-refundable deposit of $170 upon acceptance, with the remaining $340 due before our first session.
Financial Accessibility Plan: Pay the $170 deposit and then two payments of $170 (one per month). This is for folks who wouldn’t be able to participate otherwise.
Need another payment plan? Email me your proposal, and the answer will probably be yes. Sometimes, I even accept trades!
PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN SPOTS
In the interest of economic justice, I offer a limited number of pay-what-you-can spots. The minimum amount is $60 to cover the cost of The Seasonal Creator Workbook & Planner (plus shipping), and these spots are offered after registration closes, if available.
If you're considering financial assistance, I invite you to reflect on your financial situation, identity-based privilege, earning potential, and access to financial support. If you’re able to pay the standard rate—even on a payment plan—it allows me to offer assistance to those who truly need it.
REFUND POLICY
Like most small businesses offering live programs, I don’t offer refunds. The application process is designed to ensure this program is a good fit for you before you commit. If you have questions, feel free to reach out before applying too—I’m happy to chat!
APPLY FOR SPRING
Registration is first-come, first-served.
Please click the button below and you’ll be taken to an internal application form that will take a few minutes to complete. (NOTE: If you’ve taken these sessions before you still need to apply, but you get to skip some of the questions.)
If we don’t know each other/haven’t already worked together before, you'll then be contacted for a brief chat via Zoom to ensure that the program is a good fit for you and that you understand the commitment you’d be making.
I’ll confirm your spot in the program within 48 hours.
Again, there are eight spots available. (If there is more demand a second group may be added.)
Have questions before you apply? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
